Round Dhaulagiri is a challenging trek around the Dhaulagiri massif (8,167m), the sixth highest mountain in the world. The trek involves snow and glacier walking. This is the perfect trip for those who want a more intense experience in the mountains. You will be trekking deep into the base of Dhaulagiri mountain that includes the Italian Base Camp and Dhaulagiri north face base camp. These areas offer magnificent views of gigantic north face of Dhaulagiri I at a very close distance. We will cross Myagdi Glacier, Dhaulagiri Base Camp, French pass to hidden snowy valleys of this region. A few more passes on the way such as Thapa Pass or Dhampus pass will bring us to Jomsom and Muktinath. Thapa and Dhampus passes are another attraction. Scenery along this route are the massive range of Dhaulagiri and entire Annapurna range. It requires a good trekking experience and a good physical condition. In low altitude there are beautiful traditional villages and green cultivated valleys to delight your eyes. The route passes through dense forest of rhododendron, oak, deciduous trees and juniper. Trekking through the Kali Gandaki Gorge (deepest gorge in the world) that separates the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range, we will arrive in the famous little town of Jomsom from where we will fly back to Pokhara.

ITINERARY

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 02:  A half day Kathmandu sightseeing tour.
Day 03:  Drive from Kathmandu to Beni (830m). Approx. 6 hours.
Day 04:  Trek Beni to Babichoaur (950m).
Day 05:  Trek Babichoaur to Dharapani (1,500m).
Day 06:  Trek Dharapani to Muri (1,815m).
Day 07:  Trek Muri to Boghara (2,080m).
Day 08:  Trek Boghara to Dobang (2,520m).
Day 09:  Trek Dobang to Choriban (3,110m).
Day 10:  Trek Choriban to Pakoban (3,585m).
Day 11:  Rest day in Pakoban for acclimatization.
Day 12:  Trek Pakoban to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,750m).
Day 13:  Trek Dhaulagiri Base Camp to Hidden Valley (5,180m).
Day 14:  Trek Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka (3,680m).
Day 15:  Trek Yak Kharka to Marpha (2,667m).
Day 16:  Trek Marpha to Jomsom (2,700m)
Day 17:  Fly Jomsom to Pokhara. 30 minutes flight. Transfer to hotel.
Day 18:  Drive to Kathmandu in a private bus. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 19:  Rest day in Kathmandu.
Day 20:  Transfer to airport. Trip concludes!
