Pema Futi Sherpa
Discontinued
Pema Futi Sherpa, born in Namche Bazaar, has been guiding travelers through Nepal’s
mountains and valleys for over a decade. With a warm personality and deep cultural
knowledge, she focuses on creating journeys that combine adventure with authentic human
connection.
Pema is one of the few female trekking leaders in the Himalayas, admired for her care,
resilience, and leadership skills. She emphasizes inclusivity, ensuring trekkers of varying
abilities feel supported and inspired. Her passion extends beyond guiding—she actively works
with local women’s groups to encourage community development and sustainable tourism.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialize in treks across the Everest and Langtang regions, as well as lesser-known routes like Nar-Phu Valley and Pikey Peak. I especially enjoy designing cultural treks that allow travelers to immerse themselves in Sherpa traditions, village life, and Buddhist heritage while also enjoying breathtaking landscapes."
How did you get involved in travel?
"Growing up in Namche Bazaar, I saw travelers pass by every season. I admired the guides who led them and wanted to do the same. With determination, I trained and became certified as a trekking leader. Over time, I realized my mission wasn’t just to guide treks but to build bridges between travelers and local culture."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"One unforgettable journey was guiding a solo female trekker through Pikey Peak. She told me it was her first time trekking alone, and she chose Nepal because she wanted to feel empowered. Throughout the trek, we shared stories, and she said the experience changed how she viewed herself. Seeing her happiness at the summit reminded me of why I became a guide."
