Expeditions

An expedition is a long journey undertaken for a specific purpose in high mountains. In Nepal, expeditions can be carried out to Mount Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Nhutse, and many others. One of the world's best adventure destinations, Nepal is characterized by its varied landscapes and climates. It is also home to some of the highest mountains in the world. The central portion of the Himalayas, which is known as the abode of snow, is the youngest mountain system in the world. It has eight peaks that reach an elevation of over 8,000 meters. The highest peak in the world is Mount Everest. In 1949, the government of Nepal allowed foreigners to climb the country's peaks. Since then, over 400 peaks have been opened in the country. Some of these include Mount Everest, which measures 8848 meters high. All expeditions planning to climb mountains in Nepal have to obtain a permit from the country's Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. They have to follow the regulations set by the government. Before obtaining a permit, a team must also have a liaison officer who is appointed by the government. They also have to pay a certain amount of garbage fees. These fees vary depending on the mountain and are refundable if the team shows evidence of the garbage.
