Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:Paro
On arrival your Tour guide will Receive you with white Khadar ( Scarf with eight lucky sign) Your
sightseeing in Paro starts with drive to Ta Dzong (built in1656 and renovated in 1968), an
ancient watchtower which now houses the National Museum. Below the museum is the Paro
Rimpung Dzong (literally meaning “Heap of Jewels”, built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang
Namgyal, the centre of civil and religious authority in this valley. Here you can see finest
example of Bhutanese architecture.
Drive to see the Kichu Lhakhang, built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king Srongsen Gampo.
Drugyal dzong situated on south side of valley as part of your Bhutan tour. This monastery is
now in ruins and has a fascinating history of being shelter for Bhutanese soldiers repelling
Tibetan invaders during 17th century,Over night at Thim Dorji Resort
Day 2. Paro to Thimphu
After Breakfast drive to Thimphu (2350m) which takes 1.5 hours. Your Sight Seeing includes
Visit to Memorial Chorten (a huge stupa ) built in memory of the third King of Bhutan who
reigned the country from 1952 – 1972 and the Painting t School where traditional art and craft is
still kept alive.Then Visit the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved as well
as the Handicrafts Emporium where Bhutanese textiles and other arts and crafts are displayed
and can be purchased.You can visit the Hand made paper Factory which is still preserve today
by using ancient methods.
After lunch visit Takin zoo the National Animal of Bhutan and to Tashichho Dzong, the main
secretariat building. This massive fortress houses part of the government Ministries, the office of
the King and the Throne Room. It also houses the State Monastic Body as well as the office and
living quarters of the Chief Abbot. Over night at Hotel Pelyang Botique
Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha
After Breakfast drive to Punakha over the Dochula Pass (3140m).you will see the Druk
Wangyal Chortens, a collection of 108 chortens (stupas) that was built to exemplify the
greatness of the Fourth King
If weather is clear you will view the Himalayan Mountain Range boarding the Bhutan and
China.You can take pictures and have some leisure,after that drive further down to Lobesa
where you will have lunch. After lunch drive hike to Chhimi Lhakhang – also called the fertility
monastery,The Great Saint so called Devine Mad man subdued the demons with his ‘Magical
Thunder bolt. Devine Madman has then blessed this temple for the Fertility.The women without
child come here to get blessing for fertility. Over night at hotel at Zhingklham Resort.
Day 04: Punakha – Wangdue – Gangtey
After breakfast drive to Gangtey via wangdi Phodrang. It is 2 hrs drive to Gangtey.On the way
enjoy the views of the valley of Wangdiphodrang and pass Wangdue Fortress, which was
destroyed by fire in 2012 but the important relics had been saved. It is interesting to know that
in the early days, these mighty fortresses were built without using a single nail.Further drive up
to the Mountain pelela Pass and drive to Gangtey and phobijikha valley.
In the evening you will check in the Lhakpa Fram house and you will experience the Farm
house stay with hot stone bath.over night at Lhakpa farm house.
Day 05: Gangtey – Paro
After Breakfast drive back to paro,On the way visit Druk wangyel Temple which was built to
honor His Majesty,the Forth King Jigme Singye Wangchuk.The Thanka Paintings in this temple
has the detail explanation of the Past and Future of the his majesty’s Vision.Drive further to paro
one and half hour and in the evening You will have leisure at Paro town.Over night hotel at Thim
Doirji Resort.
Day 06:Thimphu to Paro hike to Taktsang Monastery ‘Tiger’s Nest’ (3120m)
After breakfast drive towards the base camp of Taktsang for the hike up to the Taktsang
Monastery-Tiger’s Nest. It’s about two hours hike up the cafeteria.From this point, enjoy
the spectacular view of the monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a
tigress in 8th century. Then visit the Taktsang Monastery and hike back to the road point then
drive to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines in Bhutan. Afterwards,
back to hotel. Overnight hotel at Thim Dorji Resort
Day 07:Paro Depart
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and depart to your destination
Tashi Delekh, the capital of Bhutan
