Introducing Tibet

Known as the “Roof of the World,” Tibet captivates travelers with its stunning Himalayan peaks, spiritual atmosphere, and unique Tibetan culture. From the sacred Potala Palace to prayer-flag-lined mountain trails and tranquil monasteries, Tibet offers unforgettable experiences.

When is the best time to visit?
The best months to visit Tibet are from April to October when the skies are clear and conditions are more favorable. Winters are cold and remote regions may be snowbound, but summer brings the high plateaus alive with color.

Where to go in Tibet?
Highlights include Lhasa with its iconic Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, the serene Namtso and Yamdrok lakes, and the breathtaking views near Mount Everest Base Camp. Monasteries in Shigatse and Gyantse are also must-see cultural gems.

How many days do I need?
At least a week is recommended to experience Lhasa and nearby sights. Two weeks or more allow for longer journeys across the plateau, cultural immersion, and trekking adventures in the Himalayan region.

Getting Around Tibet
Lhasa’s Gonggar Airport and the Qinghai-Tibet Railway connect Tibet with major Chinese cities. Within Tibet, travel is usually by tours, private vehicles, and local buses, as independent travel is restricted and permits are required.
